Welcome to Edith Rogers School
Our campus is located at 8308 Mill Woods Road. We offer a variety of academic programs and enrichment opportunities from grades 7 - 9 to ensure our students’ success in a global environment and prepare them to become the leaders of tomorrow.
Edith Rogers School was opened in 1975 and is named after Mrs. Edith Rogers, who served as an Alberta MLA and Edmonton Public School Trustee. We are proud to continue the E.R. tradition of high academic expectations, great learning opportunities and preparing students to achieve their potential.
Edith Rogers Students and Families:
I am proud and honoured to serve the students, families and faculty as Acting Principal of the Edith Rogers learning community. My name is Nouha El -Ali and I am humbled to support Edith Rogers school in my new role. I have had the privilege of working alongside a number of communities within Edmonton Public Schools. I have worked with students and families at Glengarry Elementary School as an elementary teacher, Jasper Place High School as the English Language Learners Coordinator and Social Studies teacher, J Percy Page High School as the Assistant Department Head of Student Services and Counselor, Westmount Junior High as Assistant Principal and most recently supported leadership development in our Division as a Leadership Development Consultant at the Centre for Education. It is an honour to now have the opportunity to provide support and leadership to the Edith Rogers educational community. I extend an open invitation to everyone to come by for a visit or contact us to learn more on how we can provide support.
At Edith Rogers School, the tradition of high standards for achievement and citizenship continue. We support all students through a caring and respectful learning environment and work closely with families to foster students' emotional, academic, and physical development. High quality learning opportunities are provided through an extensive selection of Career and Technology Foundations options, Academics, French and Mandrin Second Language Programming, and extra-curricular clubs and scholastic/interscholastic athletics.
As a staff of life-long learners, we work collaboratively to ensure quality, learning and teaching for all students. Using proven, research-based teaching and assessment practices, students work towards mastery, engaging in deep and critical thinking. With families, we support students in putting forward their best efforts to establish academic routines and overall citizenship. By participating in clubs, athletics and other extracurricular activities, students enrich t heir learning and acquire a well-rounded education. Since we are a "closed campus" school (students are expected to remain on school property throughout the whole day), students have many opportunities to engage in extra learning.
We are a community that honours and values our relationships with families. Our "Partnership Triangle for Student Success" (fully engaged students, parents and staff to ensure high levels of student progress/achievement) is an ongoing reminder that we are working together toward this common goal. On behalf of the entire staff of Edith Rogers School we look forward to working with you. Please do not hesitate to contact us for further conversation or information.
