Our Story

Edith Rogers School can be found on a quiet street, in Edmonton’s south side. We are nestled in the picturesque Karhiio Ward, which is the Mohawk term for tall, beautiful forest. Surrounded by fields and walking paths, our school has been part of the community since its establishment in 1975. Named after Edith Rogers, an Alberta MLA and Edmonton Public School Trustee, the campus is a historic testament to the Tweddle Place neighbourhood. Our campus has some unique architectural features that add character and make us stand out when walking by. Most people notice at our entrance our beautiful Citizenship Totem Pole that was designed and carved by Edith Rogers students in 1987.

Edith Rogers School serves junior high students in the west - central area of Mill Woods - and is the designated receiving school for students from Malcolm Tweddle, Lee Ridge, Grace Martin, Greenview, Tipaskan, HiIlview and Kameyosek elementary schools. We celebrate both diversity and inclusion in our building.  Approximately 25% of our students are identified as English Language Learners with 35 languages other than English represented amongst the student population; 10% of our students have identified themselves as First Nations, Metis or Inuit.

Edith Rogers Junior High School is an overflow designated school for Shauna May Seneca School.  If your child is part of the lottery process at  Shauna May Seneca School  and is not selected to attend the school, they will be able to attend our school.

Resident attendance area students from the  Shauna May Seneca School  should enroll at their designated school first if they wish to be part of the lottery process and be placed on the callback list. If families do not want to be part of the lottery process, they can choose to register or pre-enroll directly at Edith Rogers School. Siblings of students who will be returning to the school the following year will also be able to attend our school as well.

More information about the lottery process is available on the Edmonton Public Schools website.
